Above Average Wedding Pew Decoration
Brides who choose church or chapel weddings face the dilemma of how
to decorate pews. The traditional wedding pew decoration idea is a
simple white bow at the end of the pew. However, with a little
creativity and courage, brides are quickly adding personal flair to
the common pew bow.
Flowers and candles are being used as substitutes for the
ordinary bow. Also, many couples choose not to attach decorations to
the pews and instead use new ideas for their wedding decor.
For those who like the traditional bow however, there are a few
ways to update it without losing its familiarity. By adding a few
sprigs of a simple flower like baby’s breath, a traditional pew bow
becomes more romantic. Many brides who choose to use the bow are
also adding a similar tulle bow behind it to give that extra flair
and volume.
Flowers are a great way to modernize the wedding pew decorations. Entire
bouquets of the same flower or flowers of the same color can be
attached to pews with pew bow hangers. This look is very classic and
crisp.
Smaller bouquets can be tied onto the pews with satin ribbon for a
garden look. The ribbon should go completely around the pew’s end
meeting to tie a bow in the middle of the pew end. The small bouquet
should be tucked down into the ribbon to be held in place. Greenery
is also an inexpensive way to liven up pew decorations.
Many couples choose to forgo decorative arrangements that attach
directly to the pew and instead opt for smaller candleholders. These
candleholders are usually made of brass and are placed directly at
the end of designated pews. The candleholders can also be decorated
with greenery or flowers for a finished look. Topiary trees are also
a great alternative to attached decorations.
For a special twist, couples can choose to attach containers of
flower petals to the end of each pew to be used as the couple exits
the ceremony. To make the containers, twist thick colored paper into
a cone shape, secure with tape, and punch a hole in the top. Then
thread a beautiful ribbon through the hole and attach it to the end
of each pew. These cones are also used to hold small bunches of
decorative flowers. This is especially beautiful at outdoor
weddings.
For a bride that wants to completely transform the church or chapel,
fabric can be used on pews. Draping fabric of the bride’s choice
over the pew can completely change the look of the wedding. By
decorating the entire pew the bride adds elegance to her special
day. It is much like a slipcover for a sofa. This option can be
expensive depending on the size of the ceremony location.
The important thing to remember is brides are no longer bound to the
plain traditional pew bow. With an original wedding pew
decoration idea, the couple can create the look they dream of no matter
what the budget. Many of the most creative ideas can be done by the
couple themselves, saving room in the budget for more important
aspects of their wedding.
