Tips for Candle Pew Decorations
Decorating pews can be one of the easiest tasks a bride
can have. Pew decor is inexpensive and takes very little
time to put together. Using candles, brides can create
romantic pew decorations that not only look good, but
smell good too.
Some ceremony locations strictly prohibit the use of lit
candles. Before planning to use candle pew
decorations, ask the location's coordinator if they
permit candle use. It would be a shame to use unlit
candles as decor when lit candles offer so much more.
If you decide to use any form of candle pew decoration without a proper
base, like those in candelabras, then make sure you get
drip less candles. Drip less candles look just as lovely
as the original versions, but they allow the bride the
security of knowing no flooring will be damaged by the candle pew
decorations.
There are many varieties of candles, all of which can be
used at some point in the wedding decoration process.
First, there are the scented candles and the unscented
candles. Most brides choose to use unscented candles in
their decor. Scented candles are a great choice however.
People remember scents and associate them with certain
events in their lives. Allowing guests to smell a
wonderful scented candle during the ceremony will offer
them an interesting experience. Scents like vanilla,
apple, and spice are lovely for weddings.
Tea light candles, the smallest version of a candle, can
be used in many places of the ceremony. They work well
as candle pew decorations because they are small. One idea
for decorating pews with candles is to attach a small
brass lantern to the outside of the pew. Add a scented
tea light inside instead of oil. Decorate around the
lantern with floral garland and tulle bows. This makes
for an elegant and interesting pew decoration guests
will love.
To use long straight candles on pews use a brass
candleholder attached to the pew. Many times you can get
custom made holders that come with pew attachments with
them. Make sure you get holders that have glass or
plastic vases attached so that no one will get burned
when they are seated.
If you want a taller candle pew decorations, try using small
versions of candelabras. These pew candelabras attach
right to the end of the pew and usually hold about six
candles. Use drip less candles to create a romantic
motif for the wedding ceremony. These work very well for
dusk or evening weddings.
For a subtle look with candles, try attaching a small
wreath to the end of each pew. Then secure a small glass
candleholder in the center of the wreath with wire or
hot glue. Place a small scented candle in the holder and
you have instantly created a pew decoration with
candles.
No matter what type of candles you use, decorating your
pews with candles will bring a whole new level of
romance to your wedding ceremony. Just be sure to
decorate with safety in mind and your pew candle ideas will be
a success.
