celebrate the love between the wedding couple. Using

Outdoor Weddings
Afternoon is a great time to hold outdoor weddings
during Spring or Fall. Summer outdoor wedding should be
held in early evening, due to hot temperatures. Outdoor
Spring afternoon weddings are great because brides can
use the beauty around them in their afternoon wedding
decor.
Spring is a time for flowers to blossom and birds to
chirp, creating an instant and natural backdrop for a
wonderful wedding. Fall offers beauty of the outdoors as
well, with leaves changing colors and beautiful sunsets.
If you are in a location that tends to get hot during
your planned wedding time, then you may consider using
tents or shaded areas for your guests and the wedding
party. Draped fabric can create a cheap and decorative
shaded area if need be. Often using the shade of nearby
trees to your advantage can save the day.
Late afternoon weddings or early evening weddings may be
a good time to take advantage of beautiful sunsets.
These are especially prevalent on sandy beaches or in
other naturalistic environments such as the mountains.
Indoor Weddings
Indoor afternoon weddings can run smoothly during any
time of year. Use the sun as your lighting and try to
allow it to shine brightly through as many windows as
possible, without blinding the guests or the wedding
party of course. It might be a good idea to check out
your venue near your wedding date and time to get an
idea of how the sun comes in during your wedding time.
This way you can plan accordingly with shades.
If you want a little light in, but are afraid the guests
will be uncomfortable, simply drape heavy tulle down the
windows for a decorative wedding shade. Churches with
old-fashioned stained glass windows are ideal to use
during the afternoon. The windows combined with the sun
will offer an amazing and spiritual touch to any wedding
ceremony. Always be prepared in advance however to use
indoor lighting as well, just in case your wedding day
ends up a bit cloudy.
Many brides enjoy candles as wedding decor however it is
usually a waste to use them for an afternoon wedding.
Unless you plan on not lighting them, candles will not
be an effective decoration during the afternoon.
Overall, afternoon wedding decor can consist of anything
the bride wishes. The most important difference is
simply the lighting. Use these afternoon wedding
decorating ideas and you are sure to have a successful
celebration.
