Take The Gamble Out Of A Las Vegas Theme Wedding
Nothing celebrates a rocking future than a Las Vegas theme
wedding. Sometimes, though, the idea of eloping is more romantic
than going through with it, and certainly your family would
rather be present for your big day if given the opportunity.
A good compromise is to have a wedding with a little more
planning, complete with invitations, and have instead, a Las
Vegas theme wedding.
Start with a theme within the Las Vegas theme wedding. How about
a traditional Elvis wedding? Have Elvis Him-Selvis marry you or
an Elvis impersonator perform ‘Hound Dog’ as your first dance.
Rent a projector and run his movies on a loop on the different
walls of your reception hall – silently, of course. Or decorate
your own personal Graceland with carpeted tables and fuzzy
chairs.
No Elvis? How about a gambling Las Vegas theme wedding? Wear a
bright, white dress and carry red roses. Red and black carpets.
Red and white flowers with black accents. Use these colors
throughout the bridal party’s dresses and boutonnières.
Offer each guest their very own set of casino quality dice to
take home, maybe a pack of playing cards with yours and your
sweetie’s wedding information engraved on it. Play ‘Viva Las
Vegas’ for your first dance and have blackjack tables at the
reception. Create your own casino.
Include a play chip in the invitation. Guests can purchase more
chips to play with at the reception. Of course, the bride and
groom receive all the money for the bridal purse. Las Vegas in
your home town.
For your dining fare, have cocktail waitresses circle with hors
d’oeuvres and drinks. Offer a Vegas style buffet for your guests
to serve themselves from as the mood strikes.
Keep them in the seats you want them sitting in by using lottery
ticket place cards. Of course, holding the lottery toward the
end of the reception is a must. Offer funny prizes, maybe even
give away the bridal bouquet and garter by lottery ticket
instead of the traditional toss. Get creative. It’s your Las
Vegas theme wedding.
Make sure to have a variety of games and extra play money for
people who don’t wish to trade real money for the bridal purse.
Offer group games so that people who don’t know each other well
or at all will have a chance to mix.
Have live musicians play Vegas favorites by Elvis, Tom Jones,
Frank Sinatra, or Dean Martin. Better yet, get performers who
look like the Elvis, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, or Dean Martin
lip sync or sing their tunes for you and your guests. Use
decorations that suit whichever performer you choose.
Send your guests home with chocolates in the shape of dice,
packs of heart shaped playing cards, or cacti with ribbons
engraved with your wedding information.
When you send your thank
you notes, use postcards with pictures of Las Vegas on them. But
no personal information allowed. What happens at your Las Vegas
theme wedding stays at your Las Vegas theme wedding.
