Disney Weddings: Designed To Start A Couple On A Magical Journey
No one will argue that just about everyone loves Mickey
and all his Disney pals. There’s no doubt why thousands
of couples choose Disney weddings. Whether the actual
celebration takes place at Disneyland or Walt Disney
World, or if the theme is carried out in your own
backyard, there’s still plenty of opportunity to choose
the Disney character(s) or theme that’s right for you
and your intended. Couples often want Disney weddings
so that they can incorporate one of the theme parks into
their honeymoon.
Narrowing Down Your Disney Wedding Theme
Because there are hundreds of Disney characters, movies,
and other related items, it’s important that you choose
the exact theme early on. However, if you do choose
Disney as a “blanket” theme, then remember that Mickey
and Minnie and Cinderella and her Prince are used most
often in Disney wedding decorations. Maybe it’s one of
the movies that attracts you to a Disney theme. If
possible, purchase a copy of the movie, so that you’ll
be able to use it as a reference point.
Setting Your Disney Wedding Plan
Now that you’ve chosen Disney as the theme for your
wedding, you now need to choose a date (preferably at
least six to nine months off), find an appropriate
location and book it, select your attendants and
determine whom you’ll invite as guests. Because your
wedding will likely take place in a church, you need to
consult with the pastor to see if you can carry the
Disney theme into the sanctuary or whether you’ll have
to limit your Disney decorations to the reception.
When considering what you will wear – a traditional gown
and tuxedo or something more casual – decide if you will
incorporate the Disney theme into your attire. A fun
touch would be to wear Mickey Mouse ears.
There are dozens of Disney invitation ideas available
on-line, or at local stationery stores or printers. You
might consider a photo of yourselves during a previous
visit to one of the Disney theme parks.
Your Disney Wedding Decorations and Favors
Where do you begin? There are hundreds, if not
thousands, of Disney items available for use in your
wedding. For example, there is a Mickey and Minnie ring
bearer pillow. Look for the Disney logo on everything
from envelope seals to plates and napkins.
Disney Weddings at Destination Resorts
If you decide to hold your wedding at an actual Disney
resort (Disneyland or Walt Disney World), you are in for
the experience of a lifetime. Disneyland offers special
wedding packages that incorporate the ceremony,
including a licensed pastor or civil official, and a
complete reception.
The reception may include but not be
limited to serving staff in tuxedos, a specially
decorated head table featuring the Disney theme, ivory
or white floor length linens, elegant table settings, a
skirted table for the guest book (a Disney guest book if
you choose), place cards and gifts, a cake table and an
attendant, and a wooden parquet dance floor.
They also include a cake featuring the theme character(s)
or a specific Disney theme that you’ve chosen. Walt
Disney World basically offers the same packages and the
differences reflect the resort’s location. Rather than
staying in the hotel, this resort offers the option of
sailing on a cruise ship. Couples can be married on the
boat as well.
True Love
The world loves Disney and it shows. Disney products and
theme parks are the perfect expression of fun and
excitement. They provide valuable memories that will
last a lifetime. Disney weddings are designed to start a
couple, with the love that they share, on a magical
journey where they will embark on a wonderful voyage.
