Options for Beautiful Table Decoration For Weddings
Whether you’re wedding is big or small, and whether it
is indoors or out, you can always find beautiful table
decorations to highlight your reception. When
considering the size and number of tables your location
can accommodate, beautiful table decorations will set
off the event and will become one of the things most
remembered about your wedding.
There are two types of wedding table decorations for weddings:
- Generic: such as white tissue bells, standard wedding party banners, doves, angels, balloons, garlands and streamers, plates, napkins, glasses and hearts.
- Specific Themes: some brides argue that a wedding with a theme is the “perfect” wedding. For example:
- Hawaiian Luau: tropical plants and/or flowers, fresh or artificial leis, pineapples.
- Mexican Fiesta: clay pots filled with bright flowers such as Gerbera daisies, sombreros.
- Heart: hearts and flowers, tapered candle holders with red candles, red rose petals.
- Cinderella: blown glass carriage, glass slippers, white roses.
Are You Using A Wedding Reception Theme?
If using a theme for your wedding reception, be sure to
carry it through in everything you do. This means that
the wedding reception table centerpieces, favors and standing decorations
must all relate to each other to deliver co-ordinated and beautiful table decorations.
Flowers As Table Decorations For Weddings
Flowers can be the absolute focus of a beautiful table
decoration. Flowers can become a spectacular centerpiece
for each table, or simply for the serving table. They
can be selected to fit any budget, from the elaborate,
formal sit-down dinner to the informal backyard
barbecue. Best of all, there are literally hundreds of
flowers to choose from.
For a formal reception, you might select roses in white
or in a color to match the bridesmaid’s dresses. Lilies
(Asiatic, Oriental and Calla) also make a beautiful
table centerpiece, as do orchids (Bird of Paradise,
Dendrobium). A wedding with an English garden theme,
recently becoming very popular, may find a European or
dish garden as the focal point of a reception table.
Informal outdoor weddings also may include beautiful
table decorations. Flowers selected may include
carnations, chrysanthemums, agapanthus, Gerbera and
other types of daisies, sunflowers (both regular and
petite), asters and snapdragons.
Of course all the flowers named above, plus dozens of
others, can enhance a beautiful wedding table.
Other Table Decorations For Weddings
In addition to flowers there are many other items,
including favors, that can be used to create a beautiful
table decoration. Couples use favors to carry out their
wedding theme and to provide something that will become
a memorable “take away” gift for wedding guests. There
are dozens of items to choose from, depending on your
budget. For example: tuxedo and bridal gown favor boxes,
custom designed candy-filled wedding tins, personalized
votive candle holders, personalized napkin rings,
personalized mini-baskets filled with potpourri or
wildflower seeds or, to go with a beach-related theme,
ceramic shell and starfish salt and pepper shakers.
Other items that can beautify wedding reception tables
include personalized napkins and coasters, stem candle
holders with one color of candle and matching flower
petals, decorated or etched candle holders and/or rings,
decorated vases, individual potted plants, confetti,
poppers, name placards and photographs of the bride and
groom (especially popular if they are childhood photos).
Yours Is The Most Beautiful
No matter what type of wedding you decide upon, you will
want it to be the most beautiful celebration there ever
was . . . and the most memorable. Beautiful table
decorations are an integral part in making this happen.
Remember, wedding guests spend most of their time at the
reception, not at the actual ceremony. Thus, when
choosing the table decorations, take care to maintain
continuity and select items that are pleasing to the
eye. Enjoy yourselves!
