Christmas Wedding Centerpiece Decoration Ideas With Candles The Easy Way
Christmas wedding centerpiece decoration ideas are bountiful in two books co-written by Josie Cameron and Carol Cox titled Christmas In Minutes and Natural Ideas for Christmas. While the books aren’t specifically about Christmas theme weddings, the two ladies layout, in easy to understand instructions, cheap ways to decorate for a wedding reception by creating Christmas decor for the tables. By taking advantage of all those simple Christmas wedding centerpiece decoration ideas, money-saving do-it-yourself wedding decorating just doesn’t get any easier.
Among the projects listed in both books, there are a number of strictly floral wedding reception decoration ideas for tables as well as a number of candle table wedding decoration projects. Remember, for guest tables you want to have centerpieces that are either low or tall and thin so as to accommodate cross table chatting. One quite elegant and low Christmas table decoration project that uses a candle is the lichen and lime ring found in Christmas In Minutes that combines lime green ribbon bows, lime peel roses, and lichen around the base of cream-colored five inch high pillar candle. In the project photo on page 49, the arrangement is presented on a metallic red plate that adds festive flourish.
For something more traditional and regal, there is the nut and holly centerpiece project, also found in Christmas In Minutes on page 66. This more substantial do-it-yourself Christmas decoration project utilizes assorted nuts sprayed with gold and copper fast-drying metallic paint along with sprays of non-prickly holly and sprigs of Douglas pine. All of these elements are brought together on a silver tray using florist’s foam. Three tapered candles – gold ones are shown in the project photo on page 67 to match the gilded nuts – are nestled in the center of the arrangement. Green reindeer moss is used as filler to hide any florist’s foam that is still showing.
Another of the candle table wedding decoration ideas is the Mandarin and pine cone centerpiece in Natural Ideas for Christmas. With this “imposing festive display,” you get more of a country Christmas wedding centerpiece decoration with a one-inch thick church candle that rises to prominence. Crafting this do-it-yourself Christmas decoration involves stemming up mandarins by inserting sharpened twigs into them and then inserting the stems into florist's foam while turning the container – in the project a gold-painted terracotta saucer is used. After adding a couple of rows of mandarins all the way around, the pine cones are attached above them. Add a few nuts using a glue gun for additional holiday appeal.
Finally, another of the Christmas wedding centerpiece decoration ideas using a candle is the fabulously gorgeous rose and ivy centerpiece, with pithy step-by-step instructions for this do-it-yourself Christmas decoration found on page 95 of Natural Ideas for Christmas. This amazingly easy to arrange Christmas decor for the table also features a thick creamy-white church candle; but this time, it is situated in the middle of red roses and ivy. In the project photo, the arrangement is assembled in a terracotta pot surrounded by richly green sphagnum moss, which adds an entertaining and visually distinctive texture.
