Fall Wedding Decorations Can Employ A Variety Of Colorful Items
June isn't the only popular time of year for brides to
plan a wedding. Many brides choose to have a fall
wedding so they can enjoy the wide variety of brilliant
colors popular this time of year. Fall wedding
decorations are colorful and can employ a variety of
items including pumpkins, beautiful maple leaves,
gourds, grapes, grapevines and mums and marigolds. The
decoration ideas run from simple wreaths to elaborate
multi-tiered cakes. If the bride is creative she can
have a lot of fun planning and creating fall wedding
decorations for her wedding.
One area worthy of decoration for a fall wedding is the doorway or
archway at the church. Fill wooden buckets or
baskets with bundles of wheat until they are very full.
Swags made of wheat are also attractive when hung above
the archways of the church or your reception hall.
Decorate the swags with silk flowers, miniature pumpkins
and squashes on picks or acorns and pinecones. You can
also decorate the entranceways with terra cotta planters
full of mums or marigolds.
For decorations for a beachside fall wedding, consider using swags that outline the
entire entranceway to the door. Create the swag with
Spanish moss then decorate the swag with orange and tan
colored starfish, scallop shells and small pieces of
driftwood. The same swag can be used to decorate the
head tables at your reception.
Decorate pews with matching fall wedding decorations such as
small swags of wheat, gros grain bows in fall colors
with or without large fall flowers in the center or
elegant signs decorated with a fall motif to guide your
guests where they should sit.
At the reception hall you can decorate your tables with
all kinds of fall wedding decorations. Use faux maple
and oak leaves to scatter on the tables. The party
favors for the guests can be put in small gossamer bags
in fall colors like claret, Bordeaux and gold. Use
pillar or taper candles in your favorite fall colors for
a special glow at an evening reception. Use wire to
fasten small wreaths of fall leaves, pinecones or acorns
to the base of the candles.
Rent unusual place settings
from your local party rental store such as plates with a
fall leaf pattern or pumpkin and squash patterns. Your
silverware could have twig patterned handles for a truly
unique look. Choose tablecloths for your table that are
a fall color instead of the usual white. Rent colored
goblets and wine glasses that match your color scheme
in which your guests can enjoy their water and wine.
Topping the list of wedding hall backdrop ideas, consider using gold gossamer fabric.
Use faux fall leaf garlands to wrap around columns or to hang straight
down from the tops of the backdrop. Evening weddings can
also use lighting for the backdrop such as columns that
are lit from within or miniature lights in almost any
color you desire.
Additional fall decorating ideas include using small
pumpkins to hold place cards for the guests; simply bend
one end of a gold paper clip and insert it into the top
of the pumpkin and use the other end to hold the place
card. Tie your guests silverware with fall colored
ribbon and decorate with small silk flowers.
There are many ideas that the bride can use to create
unique fall wedding decorations. A short walk in your
local park may give you plenty of ideas that you can use
as well as provide some of the decorations themselves.
