If you're thinking of having your wedding during the winter months, read on for some tips and ideas on different winter wedding decor.

Deck The Halls

If you celebrate Christmas, and intend to have your wedding during the month of December, you can add a touch of the holidays to your winter wedding decor by using traditional Christmas decorations.

Everyone loves getting into the Christmas spirit. It's a time of year when people are happier, more relaxed and generally in good spirits. Bring this cheery vibe to your wedding by adding a touch of the Christmas season to your wedding.

If you plan to get married in a church, you can decorate the pews with fresh pine and poinsettias. If you choose to get married outside of the church, you have more room to decorate and be creative.

For example, you may think of setting up a Christmas tree in the reception area. To make the event more classy, decorate the tree only in golds or silvers. Arrange for tiny white lights to wrap around the brush and trees outside, leading up to the reception area and fill the room with candles that smell of nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla.

Design different Christmas-themed centerpieces for each table, including Santa Claus and his reindeer and/or a tiny Christmas trees lined with colorful Christmas presents. Wedding favors could be ornaments, wrapped in Christmas paper – guests can take your favors home and put them on their own tree to remember your wedding for years to come.

Winter Wonderland

If you're not crazy about using Christmas decorations as part of your winter wedding decor, there are many other ideas to make your special day magical and romantic. For example, you could have a winter wonderland decor, filled with white snowflakes, laced with elegant silver or gold glitter.

Drape white tablecloths over the dinner tables and serve dinner on silver or gold place settings. Provide wine or champagne in wintery flutes, with snowflake images on them.

Decorate the inside of the reception area like a cozy winter cabin. Light a large fireplace, and cover the area with candles to give a soft glow throughout the room. In addition to the dinner tables, bring in large bearskin rugs and other soft, fuzzy blankets and chairs for people to lounge by the fire in.

Be sure to serve hearty winter food, like rich soups and steak or venison, and finish off the meal with a liqueur or a brandy.

When you're planning your winter wedding decor, you should strive to make the wedding space warm, cozy and inviting. Winter is a beautiful time of year when nature goes into hibernation and everything is calm and silent. People gather inside their homes and spend quality time having meals or drinks together.  Create this same feeling for your winter wedding and your guests are sure to have a great time
