Tulle Decorations Enhance The Beauty Of Your Wedding

Tulle is the perfect material for wedding decorations. It’s the delicate net-like fabric typically used for bridal veils and sometimes for the outer layer of a wedding gown. Since the bride is the most beautiful attraction at the wedding, why not decorate the entire wedding hall in the same material that makes the bride’s dress beautiful?

Tulle, also called netting, is not only beautiful and so appropriate for weddings, it’s also inexpensive, easy to work with, and its uses for decorating are as unlimited as your imagination.

Start with the furnishings of the church, home, reception hall or garden. Tulle can be wrapped around the backs of chairs and tied in decorative bows. You can wrap tulle around columns and banisters, light posts and lamp bases, or drape tulle swags across the backs or ends of pews, and over doorways and window arches.

If the wedding is in the home, the entire atmosphere can be softened by draping cabinets and bookcases, coffee tables and end tables with tulle swags. Tie tulle bows around doorknobs and flower vases. If the festivities are held in the backyard, tie tulle around fence posts and drape tulle swags around tree trunks.

Next, think about dress and accessories for the wedding party. Tulle can be attached to corsages, boutonnieres and bouquets, wrapped around jewelry and tied into shoes, attached in short pieces or long flowing ribbons or nets to hairpieces, or tied as delicate bracelets around the bridesmaids’ wrists.

When it’s time to enjoy the wedding reception festivities, your guests will appreciate the tulle-draped reception tables or tulle bows attached to the corners of the tablecloths. Tulle can be tied into delicate napkin rings, attached to place cards, used to decorate the centerpiece and ruffled beneath the base of the wedding cake.

Tulle can be used to designate a special table at the wedding reception such as the gift table or the table that holds the guest book. The bride and groom’s table at the reception can have special tulle decorations.

Tulle decorating is not limited to wedding decor and accessories. Tulle wedding decorations make the perfect accent for wedding guest favors and bridal party gifts. Depending on what type of favors you choose for your wedding guests, you can tie tulle ribbon around the favors, attach a tulle bow or use the tulle to create a delicate gift bag that encloses each wedding favor. Just cut two strips of tulle to the size of the bag you want, and sew up around the edges, then twist at the top and tie with a ribbon.

Use tulle to decorate your wedding scrapbook and guest book, along with the pens used to sign the guest book. Tulle ribbons also make lovely decorations for wedding invitations.

If you plan to include your pet in the wedding celebration, a tiny tulle bow can be tied around the pet’s collar. Some brides and grooms have a beloved pet as the ring bearer or flower “girl,” and a tulle bow can be a wonderful way to attach the rings to the pet’s collar or to decorate the flower basket carried by the pet.

Tulle is easy to buy in bulk, and it’s so simple to work with. Unless you are creating tulle gift bags, you don’t need to spend any time sewing the tulle. Simply cut and trim the bolt of tulle to the size you need for each decoration.

When your wedding is over, you can find plenty of ways to reuse the tulle swags and decorations that remain behind. Attach tulle ribbons to your thank you cards and wedding photo cards. Use tulle to decorate framed wedding photos sent to special loved ones. Whatever tulle wedding decoration remains can then be used for decorative packages, gift box bows and liners, and holiday ornaments.
