Wedding Table Decorations That Accent Your Centerpiece
While the table centerpiece is the crown of any wedding table
decoration, it isn't, and shouldn't be, the only thing that you
consider. Wedding table decorations don't begin or end with the
centerpiece.
An unusual choice of table linens or dinnerware can make
stunning table top wedding decoration that lingers in the minds of your guests. Think
beyond the center of the table when choosing decorating accents
for both the head table and the guest tables, and you'll create an
elegant and memorable background for the wedding reception.
Many caterers or event halls will provide a wide choice of colors
for tablecloths and napkins. Snowy white is a traditional bridal
choice, but colors chosen to coordinate with the room decor or the
wedding party are also popular wedding table decoration ideas.
If you've chosen the flowers for your wedding table centerpieces
already, choose tablecloth and linen colors that will create a
natural backdrop for the floral decoration. Don't be afraid to mix
up the colors a little. There's no reason that tablecloths and
napkins have to match. Pick dark tablecloths, and accent with a
pastel hue of the same color for a bold look, or reverse it. Light
tablecloths with dark napkins have an understated, elegant feel.
Thinking beyond the center of the table is yet another way to
create a unique impression with your wedding table decorations.
One of the prettiest ideas we've seen works very nicely for a
small wedding with round tables. Using 1 inch satin ribbons in
colors from the wedding party, cut three lengths of ribbon the
diameter of the table plus three feet.
Crisscross the three ribbons at the center of the tabletop,
allowing the ends to fall naturally over the edge. As a finishing
touch, pin a small nosegay of rosebuds just above the end of each
ribbon and place your centerpiece at the center point of the
'star'.
You can add a classic, elegant touch to a home-catered buffet
wedding with a variation of the ribbon center to decorate your
buffet tables. Simply run a satin table runner in a color that
contrasts with the tablecloth the length of the table under the
chafing trays. Accent with small baskets or crystal bowls
overflowing with flowers placed between the trays at the front
edge of the runner.
Don't forget the little touches that can add so much to the
romance of the day. Just remember that presentation is more
important than expense in creating a beautiful wedding table
theme. Unexpected elegance, like linen napkins folded into swan
baskets or crowns, will add to the overall luxury that every bride
deserves on her special day without pinching her pocketbook for
even one cent.
