Find Wedding Table Decoration Ideas Everywhere You Look

If you're looking for wedding table decoration ideas, you could turn to Bride and Modern Bride magazine or one of the other great wedding magazines, and see what's fashionable this season. You'll find lots of elegant - and expensive - ideas for decorating using the products of their advertisers. That's not a bad thing at all - far from it.

Many of the ideas you'll find in the bridal magazines can be easily adapted or changed to suit your budget or style. If you look beyond the bridal magazines, though, you'll find unique, unusual ideas for decorating your wedding tables nearly everywhere you look.

Here are several starting points to help you come up with ideas for wedding table decorations that will help create the atmosphere you want for your wedding.

If you've planned a wedding with a special them, create your table decorations around it as well. For a romantic beach wedding, for instance, draw your inspiration from the ocean. A glass centerpiece bowl that mingles delicate seashells with clear glass marbles as a base for flowers would blend the theme beautifully into the table decorations. Some other ideas that work well with particular themes are:

Asian themed wedding:
Choose bold colors for your table linens. Centerpiece ideas that work well with this theme include miniature bonsai dish gardens, or the stark simplicity of a waterfall tumbling over rocks.

Black-and-white themed wedding:
To suit the bold elegance of black and white, choose a dramatic flower like the calla lily for your centerpiece. Or soften the contrasts and add romance to the table setting by clustering pure white roses in a sleek black bowl.

Celestial themed wedding:
Use navy blue tablecloths with gold napkins, and sprinkle glimmering star confetti around the center of the table. Do use a light hand, though, and keep it away from the edges, or your guests will spend more time picking it off their sleeves than they do dancing.

Mark each place with a crystal bud vase affixed to a star-shaped mirror purchased at the craft store. Instead of flowers, fill it with candies wrapped in navy and silver foil, and wrap the entire vase in navy tulle gathered with a gold ribbon.

Take your inspiration from the season if you don't have a particular theme in mind. Baskets of poinsettias against a dark green tablecloth lend a dramatic, colorful touch to a winter wedding.

In summer, choose roses for a classic, romantic wedding, or go casual with vases of wildflowers.

Autumn flowers and colors are earthy and dramatic. An arrangement of deep orange mums sparked with silvery spider mums is unexpectedly dramatic.

In the spring, bring to mind romance with lilacs in lavender and white. Bunch them in a bubble vase and let the blossoms spill over the edge of the bowl.

If you still want to find ideas from other sources, don't limit yourself to bridal magazines. Nearly every issue of any women's magazine will be chock full of photos of beautifully set tables to show off recipes.

Leaf through home decorating magazines and catalogs from home decor companies for more ideas. Don't neglect the obvious, either - your florist can duplicate any arrangement you really like from a florist's catalog, crafting book or floral web site.
